Mount Thomas
Mount Thomas is one of the Chugach Mountains. It is located about 15 miles (24 km) from Valdez, near the Valdez Narrows. According to the US Geological Survey, Mount Thomas was named in 1898 by Captain Abercrombie after Union Civil War hero General George Henry Thomas.

Local tour operators out of Valdez often pass by Mount Thomas while focusing on the nearby Anderson Falls or heading in or out of the Valdez Narrows.
