The 2022 Valdez Photo Contest is live! Entries will be accepted through August 15th. Five runner-up photos will be selected for a prize of $50 each. One grand-prize winner will be selected for a $500 cash prize and the chance for their photo to appear on the cover of the 2023 Valdez Visitors Guide.
Preference will be given to photos that are 300 dpi or higher, though all photos will be considered.
2021 Contest Winners
What an unusual year 2021 was! Despite the overall decline in tourism, Alaskans got out and explored their own state that summer and that spirit was reflected in our photo contest winners.
Discover Valdez's annual photo contest debuted in 2019. That was a hot summer for Alaska, so it's no wonder so many of our photo entries were of folks finding ways to cool off at our local glaciers!
