The 2012 Valdez Halibut Derby began May 19th and runs through September 2nd. The Kid's Pink Salmon Derby will be held July 7th. The Silver Salmon Derby will begin July 21st and run through September 2nd. The Women's Silver Salmon Derby will be held August 11th. There is over $80,000 in cash and prizes!! The first place grand prize for the Halibut and Salmon Derbies is $15,000 cash. Second place is $5,000 cash and third place is $2,000 cash.
