Valdez can be a natural wonderland for kids and teens to explore. Between the Prince William Sound, rocky beaches, trails and wonderful wildlife, there are lots of places for youth to investigate and discover the natural wonders of Valdez.
However, Valdez also has other creative things for young people to do. This town has a fantastic Skate Park located on West Pioneer Street (on the right hand side of the street). Whether you are skateboarding, longboarding or on a kick scooter, you'll enjoy visiting the Valdez Skate Park. You will find two half pipes, jump box, a set of stairs and six ramps that range from basic to advanced skills. There are also picnic tables located at the park.
Valdez also has a fantastic library where you can find great books, internet access, computers, story time and movies. The Valdez Library is a wonderful place to visit any day, but especially if you’re looking for something to do when it’s raining in Valdez.
For more information, call (907) 835-4632 or visit the library at 260 Fairbanks Street.
If you prefer to watch movies on the big screen, Valdez has a fantastic movie theater located in the Valdez Convention Center at 314 Clifton Dr. For more movie information, call (907) 835-4440 or visit their website.
